1. Introduction
Welcome to this podcast transcript search service ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect, use, and share information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding data collection when you use our service.
Important: This site is an independent search engine for podcast transcripts. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any podcast, podcast network, or content creator. We do not own or claim any rights to the podcast content indexed on this platform.
2. What We Are
This site is a fan-made search tool that indexes publicly available podcast transcripts to help fans find specific moments, quotes, and discussions. Think of us like a search engine (similar to Google) but specialized for podcast content.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Automatically Collected Information
When you use our service, we automatically collect:
- Device Information: A device identifier derived from your IP address, browser, and language headers for rate limiting, analytics, and abuse prevention.
- Session Information: If you sign in, we store session records such as the session creation time, expiry time, browser user agent, and IP address so you can review and revoke active sessions.
- Country: Your approximate country location (derived from Cloudflare headers) for analytics purposes.
- Search Queries: The searches you perform so we can improve our service and understand what content users are looking for.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, search result counts, and response times to help us optimize performance.
3.2 Information You Provide
If you choose to create an account, save alerts, or provide feedback, we collect the information needed to support those features:
- Account Information: Your email address, account status, creation date, last sign-in date, and password status.
- Passwords: Passwords are stored as password hashes. We do not store your plaintext password.
- Magic Links and Password Reset Links: Temporary token records are stored so you can sign in, reset a password, or confirm an email change.
- Saved Search Alerts: Saved queries, optional labels, alert status, last-run timestamps, alert delivery records, and alert check logs.
- Account Security Activity: Self-service account actions such as exports, password reset requests, email changes, session revocations, and account deactivation, along with request metadata used for audit and security purposes.
- Feedback: Ratings, optional comments, the question and answer you are rating, and device/IP metadata used for abuse prevention when you provide AI feedback.
3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- You can search public transcript content without creating an account
- We do not collect payment information
- We do not intentionally collect legal names unless you include one in feedback or another free-text field
- We do not use tracking cookies for advertising
- We do not sell any data to third parties
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide the Service: Process your search queries and return relevant results.
- Manage Accounts: Create accounts, sign you in with a password or magic link, send password reset links, confirm email changes, and keep track of active sessions.
- Send Alerts: Watch future completed episodes for your saved searches and send site-branded email alerts when transcripts match.
- Prevent Abuse: Rate limiting ensures fair usage and prevents automated abuse of our AI-powered features.
- Improve the Service: Analytics help us understand usage patterns, popular searches, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain Security: Device fingerprints help us detect and prevent malicious activity.
5. Third-Party Services
Our service uses the following third-party providers:
- Cloudflare: For hosting, security, and content delivery. Cloudflare may process request data according to their Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: For bot detection and human verification (CAPTCHA alternative). This helps us prevent automated abuse without intrusive challenges.
- AI Services: We use AI models to power our AI Search feature. Your search queries are processed by these services to generate answers, but we do not share any personally identifiable information with them.
- Brevo: For transactional email such as magic links, password reset links, email-change confirmations, and saved-search alert emails.
6. Data Retention
- Rate Limit Data: Automatically expires after 30 minutes to 24 hours.
- Magic Link Tokens: Expire after 15 minutes.
- Email Change and Password Reset Tokens: Expire after a short verification window and are consumed when used.
- Sessions: Account sessions expire after 30 days unless you sign out or revoke them sooner.
- Account and Alert Data: Retained while your account is active so you can manage saved searches, alert history, exports, and security activity. If you deactivate your account, we sign out active sessions and stop future alert emails, but keep the inactive account record, saved searches, account security activity, alert delivery history, and alert check logs unless eligible data is removed through a separate request.
- Analytics Data: Retained in aggregate form. Individual event data may be periodically purged.
- Feedback Data: Retained to improve our AI responses unless you request deletion.
7. Your Rights
Account features are optional. If you create an account, you can manage your information from the account settings page.
- Export your account data as JSON or CSV
- Pause, resume, delete, or unsubscribe from saved-search alerts
- Request password reset links and email-change confirmation links
- Review and revoke active sessions
- Deactivate your account, which signs out sessions and stops future alert emails
- If you've submitted feedback and wish to have it removed, contact us
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
